Finding space for students to explore artifacts, record observations, and create representations isn’t always easy. We’ve seen many different setups from tables to bulletin boards. For an especially small classroom, even a suitcase was used to store and roll out different artifacts and student work during free time.

Table Displays

Having a project space available on a table top, is a great way for students to have a designated space for project work. The table can be within or next to another area or center in your room. Make sure to include tools that allow students to explore the objects closer and paper and writing utensils for notes and drawings.

Bulletin Boards

Bulletin boards can be used to display project work and representations. They are a great way to use wall space instead of taking up more floor space.
